Warning about fraudulent trade fair directories
In recent years, exhibitors of IFBA have repeatedly been contacted by the operators of the “Expo Guide” database as well as the company “International Fairs Directory.” These communications often offer listings in trade fair directories or the placement of paid advertisements.
Please be aware that such offers can be misleading and may involve hidden costs. In many cases, signing or confirming these forms can result in long-term and costly contractual obligations.
Furthermore, emails sent from domains such as eventsscribe.org or similar addresses (e.g., eventzscribe.com) are currently being classified by many conference organizers as fraud attempts (spam or phishing).
Our recommendation
- Do not reply: Any interaction (including clicking ‘Unsubscribe’) confirms to the scammers that your email address is active.
- Avoid links and attachments: Do not click on any links or download any attachments, as these may contain malware or lead to phishing sites.
- Block the sender: Mark the email as spam and block the domain in your email client.
- Report & delete: Report suspicious emails to us and then delete them.
The following providers have no affiliation whatsoever with IFBA or VBA Service GmbH:
